Introduction

Lodge View bed and breakfast is in a detached bungalow located in a quiet cul de sac, a short walk away from Stamford town centre.

How to find us

By car from the A1. Take the Oakham A606 exit and head towards Stamford town centre. Pass the Danish Invader pub on your right, and then take the next right turning into Roman Bank. St Clements is the second left turning off Roman Bank. Lodge View is the second bungalow on the right.

 

Transport links

·      The nearest bus stop is at the end of the cul de sac on Roman Bank. The bus stop on the far side of the road goes to Oakham and Peterborough. On the nearside the bus will take you to the town centre bus station.

·      A 15/20 minute walk will take you across the town to the railway station.Trains go either to Peterborough and beyond or Oakham/ MeltonMowbray/Leicester/ Birmingham.

 

Shopping

·      A less than 10 minute walk takes you to Waitrose

·      There is a small Tesco in Stamford town centre.

·      Morrisons is about a 25/30 minute walk away

·      Stamford town centre is a 10/15 minute walk away. Stamford has a good selection of individual independent stores combined with well known high street names.

·      Stamford Arts Centre  is situated in the centre of the town on St Marys Street, and has regular live performances and films.

The Tourist Information Centre is located in the Arts Centre.

 

Arrival & Car parking facilities

·      Guests are requested to arrive after 4pm so that your room can be properly prepared following previous occupancy. If circumstances permit an earlier time may be arranged. It is the policy of the owners to greet their guests, show them the facilities of the house, and offer refreshments including home made cakes.

·      There are no parking restrictions in St Clements and there is adequate parking space outside the bungalow in this quiet close.

 

General Information

  • The house is centrally heated.

 

  • There are no stairs in the property.

 

  • The building has 4 smoke detectors.

 

Kitchen and Dining Room

·      Bifold door width 30ins. The room measures 13ft by 15ft with windows overlooking the front garden and across Stamford town towards Burghley House.

·      Lighting, 2 halogen spotlight tracks.

·      Floor is tiled.

·      Island unit in the middle.

·      Furnished with a pine dining room table and pine cushioned chairs to seat 6;

Outside

Enter the property via the small hand gate.There are 2 concrete steps leading to the front door each of which measures 8 inches. There are hand rails for these steps.

To avoid the 2 steps the main driveway has sloped access. After coming through the large gates bear left to the front door. There are slabs laid to the front door.

Main entrance

The front door has a 6 inch step across the threshold.

The front door is 30 inches wide, as is the inner hall door.

The hall measures 6 ft by 16 ft and has  a tiled surface.

The hall leads to the double bedroom ahead,and to the shower room ahead and to the right. The kitchen dining room is just past the shower room.

Light switches are located on the left as you enter the front door, and opposite the shower room door.

Double Bedroom

  •      The bedroom measures 11ft by 9ft 2inches and contains a king sized bed, a wardrobe, bedside cabinets and dressing table.

 

  •  Door width 30ins.

 

  •   Carpet.

 

  •   Lighting by a ceiling light supplemented by 2 small bed side lamps.

     

  • Bedding is non-feather king sized duvet/pillows.

      

  • Free space 50 sq ft

Twin room

  • Door 30ins wide

 

  • The bedroom measures 11 foot by 9 ft 2 inches and contains 2 twin beds. a wooden towel rail, 2 bedside cabinets, a wardrobe, a desk and swivel office chair.

 

  • The floor is carpeted.

 

  • Lighting by a ceiling light supplemented by 2 small bed side lamps

 

  • Bedding is non-feather king sized duvet/pillows.

 

Shower room

 The shower room has recently been re-fitted, and is located

next door to the double room.

  •       The toilet seat is 16ins high, space to the left 8ins, space to the right 8ins
